ADM Global and Sojitz Corporation Join Forces: A New Stage in Uzbekistan-Japan Industrial Partnership
ADM Global continues to expand and reach new levels of international cooperation. Today, the group of companies is becoming an increasingly prominent player in major industrial projects, and partnerships with leading global corporations are opening up new horizons for its development. The agreements reached in Tokyo in December 2025 are a clear example of this.
Recently, cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan has received additional impetus at the highest level. At the invitation of Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev is paying an official visit to Japan from December 18-20. During the visit, active meetings and negotiations are taking place between government officials and business circles of the two countries, aimed at expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation.
It was in this context that a business meeting between ADM Global and the Japanese corporation Sojitz was held in Tokyo on December 19, resulting in the signing of a memorandum of understanding. The document reflects the parties' shared commitment to developing a long-term and mutually beneficial partnership and jointly launching new projects in Uzbekistan.
The signed memorandum creates the foundation for implementing joint investment initiatives, primarily in the automotive and related industries. ADM Global and Sojitz have agreed to combine their experience, technological capabilities, and international expertise to develop the industry and introduce modern solutions to the Uzbek market.
Automotive Industry in Focus
The key area of cooperation will be the development of Uzbekistan's automotive industry. The parties plan to work in several important areas:
- launching and expanding automobile production, including localization and the creation of full-cycle knock-down (CKD) facilities;
- building sustainable and efficient supply chains for vehicles, components, and equipment;
- developing a dealer network across the country with a high level of service and maintenance;
- attracting a leading Japanese automaker to Uzbekistan as a technology partner;
- training – training and internships for engineering and technical specialists with the support of international OEMs.
Cooperation Beyond the Automotive Industry
The partnership between ADM Global and Sojitz is not limited to the automotive industry. The companies are also exploring opportunities to collaborate on commercial and development projects in Uzbekistan. This may include consulting and technical support, as well as participation in projects implemented by Sojitz and its partners, from the development of commercial facilities to operational support.
Investments and Next Steps
The cooperation is expected to attract approximately $150-200 million USD to the development of Uzbekistan's automotive industry. To put these agreements into practice, the parties plan to establish joint working groups, regularly exchange information, and develop detailed roadmaps for each area.
The signing of the memorandum with Sojitz Corporation marks an important growth milestone for ADM Global and confirms its growing role in major international projects. By expanding the geography of its partnerships and attracting leading global companies, ADM Global not only strengthens its own position but also contributes to the development of Uzbekistan's industrial potential, laying a solid foundation for the country's long-term economic growth.
