ADM Global Highlights Key Challenges Facing Uzbekistan’s Automotive Market at Automechanika Tashkent 2026
Representatives of ADM Global Group of Companies took part in the business programme of the international Automechanika Tashkent 2026 exhibition, held on October 21-22. The main topics covered included the outlook for Uzbekistan’s automotive market, competition between OEM and aftermarket suppliers, quality standards for automotive components and the specific considerations involved in selecting engine oils for modern vehicles.
Nataliya Orlova, Deputy Commercial Director of ADM Global, presented an overview of Uzbekistan’s automotive market and shared her forecast for its development over the next five years during the session entitled “OEM vs Aftermarket: Quality Standards, Competition and Market Development”.
Orlova identified the growth of the grey import market as one of the key risks. In her view, owners of vehicles purchased through unofficial import channels may face difficulties with maintenance and repairs in the future due to a lack of adequate servicing infrastructure and spare parts.
“Looking ahead, we can say with confidence that not all new brands will remain in the Uzbek market. Some will undoubtedly leave. This poses a risk not only to dealers but also to customers. Buyers may find themselves in a situation where a vehicle purchased today cannot be repaired in Uzbekistan tomorrow,” said Nataliya Orlova.
Artur Yakupov, Head of After-Sales Service for HAVAL, also spoke at the session, emphasising the importance of raising vehicle owners’ awareness of quality standards for automotive components. According to Yakupov, when choosing spare parts, customers often focus primarily on price without paying sufficient attention to whether the parts comply with established standards.
“Compliance with standards is a fundamental requirement that both sellers and buyers need to understand. We must explain to vehicle owners why this matters and how they can use this knowledge to minimise financial losses and, most importantly, ensure their own safety,” stressed Artur Yakupov.
During the session entitled “Central Asia’s Modern Vehicle Fleet: Are Motor Oils Ready for New Demands?”, participants discussed the selection of lubricants in the context of modern automotive technologies and vehicle operating conditions.
Sergey Sokolov, Head of After-Sales Service for Kia, highlighted Uzbekistan’s climatic conditions, including significant temperature fluctuations and demanding driving conditions. According to Sokolov, the selection of engine oils for Kia vehicles takes into account both the manufacturer’s technical requirements and the specific conditions in which vehicles are operated in Uzbekistan.
