ADM Global Supported Uzbekistan’s First Ranked Junior Golf Tournament

From August 28 to 30, Tashkent Lakeside Golf Club hosted the Uzbekistan Boys Open U16 Championship and Uzbekistan Girls Open U16 Championship. These were the first tournaments in the country’s history to count towards the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR), administered by The R&A and USGA. ADM Global served as the title sponsor of the competitions.

The tournaments followed a 54-hole individual stroke play format. Twenty boys and nine girls took part in the competitions.

Alibek Inoyatov won the boys’ tournament with a score of 208 strokes (71–68–69). He completed all three rounds under par and finished 19 strokes ahead of his nearest competitor. This was Alibek’s third victory in a WAGR tournament, following two previous wins at tournaments in Kazakhstan. Fedor Li placed second with 227 strokes, while Timofey Zelenkov finished third with 231.

In the girls’ tournament, the competition for first place continued until the final hole. Amira Talipova won with a score of 218 strokes (75–71–72), finishing just one stroke ahead of Alina Akimzhanova, who recorded 219. Elizaveta Kim placed third with 224 strokes.

Following the tournaments, golfers from Uzbekistan earned positions in WAGR for the first time. Amira Talipova became the first female golfer from Uzbekistan to enter the world ranking and currently ranks 3,314th. Alibek Inoyatov ranks 4,016th.

“The inclusion of our tournaments in WAGR represents recognition of the standard of competition organisation in Uzbekistan and opens the door to the international stage for our players,” said Dilshod Takhirov, Chairman of the Uzbekistan Golf Federation.
