1000 students from six countries will develop an export strategy for ADM
On February 21, 2026, the International Business Case Competition, organized with the support of the ADM Group, kicked off at New Uzbekistan University.
This year, the competition reached a new level: approximately 1,000 students from 55 universities in the United States, Germany, China, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan participated in 230 teams.
Business instead of an educational model
The competition is based on a real case from the ADM Group. Students will analyze the holding's data and propose strategic solutions for expanding export activities.
This task goes far beyond the traditional approach to developing a new market. It involves a comprehensive strategy for a multi-industry group combining production, component exports, its own logistics infrastructure, and a financial unit. Participants will consider regulatory barriers, customs requirements, the competitive environment, and the specific positioning of various brands in the portfolio – from mass-market passenger cars to commercial vehicles. Essentially, the program is about developing an integrated B2B and B2C export model, where production, logistics, and financial instruments operate as a single system for entering markets in Central Asia and beyond.
Over the course of four weeks, participants will undergo intensive training using Harvard Business School methodology, after which they will present their strategies to a panel of experts. The best solution will be submitted to ADM for further implementation. Essentially, this is a direct dialogue between the university audience and real businesses.
Why is this important for business?
For ADM, participation in the International Business Case Competition is more than just supporting an educational initiative. It's a way to work with a new generation of professionals today.
Alisher Komilov, Deputy CEO for Strategic Development at the ADM Group, noted:
"The International Business Case Competition is an opportunity to work with a new generation of professionals who bring fresh ideas, innovative thinking, and modern management approaches. For ADM, this is not a one-time initiative, but part of a systemic development strategy through 2030, which includes increasing production to $10 billion and increasing export volume to $500 million."
Today, we are developing not only our production capacity but also our international business, creating a sustainable export model. It is important for us to see how young analysts from different countries and academic schools approach these challenges. This perspective helps us reassess the competitive landscape, logistics capabilities, and the potential of the brands in our portfolio.
We hope the best solutions won't remain in the competition. They can become part of the company's practical work and contribute to expanding our supply geography and developing a next-generation industry."
Today, cars produced at the ADM Jizzakh plant are already exported to Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. The company is focusing on further expansion of its supply geography and the development of hybrid technologies.
University and Industry – in One Project
The International Business Case Competition is becoming a platform where the academic environment engages with real business challenges. For students, this is an opportunity to go beyond theory, and for companies, to gain a fresh perspective and alternative strategic approaches. This is how a professional environment for future leaders is formed – where ideas are tested in practice.
