Kia launches Sonet compact urban crossover in Uzbekistan

On March 27, 2024, ADM Global announced the successful completion of the Kia Sonet pilot production and the start of production of the first batch of Sonet vehicles. This crossover will be the first Kia model to be produced in Uzbekistan, in Jizzakh, using a complete technological cycle (CKD), which includes welding and body painting. Currently, commissioning and adjustment works are being completed at the ADM plant's new production line, equipped with the most modern equipment and capable of producing up to 50,000 Sonet vehicles per year. Within the framework of the project, several dozen different components, assemblies will be manufactured and production operations will be localized.

The compact modern urban crossover Kia Sonet is designed for the younger generation. Even the name of the model speaks for itself in this regard: Sonet - is a combination of two SOcial NETwork words familiar to young people. This latest crossover, suitable for the urban environment, aimed at young, ambitious leaders of the future, offers a modern design, comfort and convenience, advanced high-tech solutions. All this allows it to be included in the increasingly popular category of “smart crossovers”.

Despite its small size, the Sonet has all the “family” features inherent in Kia crossovers and SUVs. The corporate style of the radiator grille design is very recognizable “Tiger Smile”. Regardless of the configuration, the LED optics installed on the car are made in the “Heartbeat” style, one of Kia’s newest and most popular styles with our customers. Designers created the Sonet based on the concept of "a car for the young at heart." The modern and sporty exterior attracts attention, while the "off-road" exterior trim elements typical of crossovers give the Sonet a more bold and assertive look. The ground clearance of 205 mm, which is large for this segment, allows you to feel confident in almost any situation that a city crossover may encounter.

The interior of the Kia Sonet has many attractive solutions. A modern city dweller will definitely appreciate the combination of the instrument panel and the multimedia system screen, made in the latest "integrated" style, the "atmospheric" interior lighting with the ability to select colors, a wireless charging pad for mobile devices, and USB ports for both the front and rear rows. The Sonet has a premium Bose audio system, which is a rarity in the compact crossover segment. Another option, usually characteristic of cars in a higher segment, is the front seat ventilation system.

The Sonet is also technically very well balanced. The time-tested 1.5 MPI four-cylinder naturally aspirated engine with distributed fuel injection has a maximum power of 115 horsepower and works in conjunction with a six-speed manual or CVT transmission. The driver has the opportunity to adjust the "character" of the car to his liking using the "Drive Mode Select" driving mode selection system. The leather trim of the transmission selector makes its use even more pleasant and enhances the interior.

The traditional reliability of Kia cars allows the manufacturer to set attractive factory warranty terms - 5 years or 150,000 kilometers. These terms also apply to the compact Sonet crossover, produced at the plant in Jizzakh.

Prices for the Kia Sonet start at 200 million soums. Exact configurations and prices will be announced in April.
