"2024 CHERY International Business Conference": expanding future opportunities and achieving our dreams together!

On April 30, 2024, the “2024 CHERY International Business Conference” was held in Wuhu, Anhui Province, China. The event was attended by officials from Wuhu Municipal Government and Anhui Provincial Government, UNICEF China, Nature-based Solutions (NbS) Management Center, as well as more than 2,000 dealers. The “2024 CHERY International Business Conference” was also attended by official representatives of the ADM Global Group of Companies, the official distributors of the CHERY automobile brand in Uzbekistan.

In 2024, CHERY clearly expressed its orientation towards a new wave of electrification, environmental friendliness and globalization. Mr. In Tun’yue, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CHERY Group, warmly greeted more than 2,000 guests - representatives of customers, media and partners around the world. He spoke about CHERY’s new strategy of electrification, intellectual technology, low-carbon production and globalization. In 2023, CHERY exported a record 940,000 vehicles, becoming China's largest automobile exporter, confirming its strong position in the global market. In the future, the company will focus on strengthening the brand, expanding its multi-brand portfolio, investing in scientific and technological innovation, conducting research and development in the fields of new energy sources and intelligent communication, and promoting international cooperation, while also fulfilling its social responsibilities. CHERY’s goal is to become a “world-class green intelligent mobility technology company” (“A world-class company for the production of environmentally friendly intelligent mobile technologies”).

Mr. Xu Zhi, Mayor of Wuhu City, and Mr. Wang Qingxian, Governor of Anhui Province, highly praised CHERY’s 27-year history. They emphasized the company’s commitment to sustainable development and social welfare. Government representatives stressed their readiness to create a favorable business environment and comprehensively support the development of CHERY and its global dealer network.

Over the course of more than 20 years of its global operations, CHERY has been adhering to the principles of sustainable development and implementing ESG practices (Environmental, Social, Governance). The company actively participates in society, contributing to the economy, employment, tax revenues, and prosperity in all markets where it operates. Mr. Zhang Shenshan, Executive Vice President of CHERY International, introduced the company's 2023 "Public Welfare & ESG Practices" at the conference. These include the establishment of a charity fund, cooperation with organizations such as UNICEF (the United Nations Children's Fund) and IUCN (the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources), as well as various social welfare activities around the world, as well as various programs in the fields of education, natural disasters and environmental protection. "With CHERY With Love" As part of the (WCWL) platform, CHERY, together with partners, is implementing projects in 21 countries, investing in educational programs and restoring biodiversity. These efforts demonstrate the company's commitment to the principles of corporate social responsibility and sustainable development.

In the future, CHERY will continue to expand its cooperation with UNICEF and IUCN. The company supports UNICEF's "Global Education Thematic Programme" in countries including Mexico, South Africa, Turkey and China, and also expands its positive impact by implementing environmental protection programs aimed at protecting wildlife in South Africa and preserving marine ecosystems in Spain and other countries.

At the conference, Mr. Neil Bush, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Skytower Investments, Ms. Amanda Bissex, UNICEF Representative in China, and Charles Karangwa, Head of Nature-based Solutions (NbS), spoke about their cooperation with CHERY. In addition, CHERY has launched the “Water Resources and Marine Conservation – Cherish the Nature” initiative, which is an important step in the implementation of the company's global environmental initiatives. (“Protection of Water Resources and Marine Environment – Save Nature”) project was launched.

In addition to demonstrating ESG practices at the conference, CHERY also revealed future strategies for using new energy sources and investing in technologies. CHERY Automobile Co. Dr. Gao Xinhua, Executive Vice President of CHERY, delivered a technical report on CHERY's new energy strategy, intelligent driving and R&D (Research and Development) investment. He said that CHERY has R&D centers focused on local needs in 8 markets. In the next 5 years, the company plans to invest 100 billion yuan in R&D, expand the international team of experts, strengthen the R&D capabilities of laboratories, and develop more than 500 key technologies to become a leader in the global automotive industry.

In order to ensure sustainable development in the next five years, CHERY has announced a strategic plan for the future. Mr. Zhang Guibin, President of CHERY International, delivered a keynote speech on the theme of “Co-create the New Era”. He emphasized that the future business model of the automobile industry will become a comprehensive model of “70% car sales + 30% car ecosystem services”, which means moving from the traditional competition of price, product and brand to a new battlefield with the ecosystem as the center. The conference showcased CHERY s first flying saucer-shaped drone, an independently developed four-legged entertainment robot and the world's first two-legged service robot. In the future, these robots will serve consumers by providing convenience and efficiency in CHERY showrooms, stores, supermarkets, and even in users' homes.
